- Two public schools systems: Loudon County Schools and
Lenoir City Schools
- Blue Ribbon Schools - Steekee Elementary School and
Eaton Elementary School
- Technologically prepared workforce for the 21st Century
- 49.6% of local graduates enter the labor force immediately
upon graduation while 45.7% continue their education
- School systems work together to implement an innovative
program called "Education Edge" designed to
increase academic achievement in subjects including math,
science, and language. The program challenges students
to meet high standards regardless of whether they are
college bound.
- Students are required to take the Tennessee
Comprehension Assessment Program (TCAP) exam, which
measures attainment levels as well as annual progress
of students in the areas of math, reading, language arts,
science, social studies, and writing
- Students must pass comprehensive Gateway
Exams in Algebra I, Biology, and English II in order
to graduate from high school.
- All graduating seniors are required to take the ACT,
SAT, or ACT Work Keys tests in order to receive their
diploma.
- Lenoir City School System levies local sales tax for
educational purposes. The school system is comprised of
three schools (elementary, middle, and high school).
- Loudon County School System is comprised of 10 schools
making it the largest public school system in Loudon County.
- Over 50% of the teaching staff in the Loudon County
School System has at least a Master's Degree.

Roane State Community College located in Downtown Lenoir
City provides associate degree programs for career preparation
and also offers transfer, career, continuing, and developmental
educational programs.

University
of Tennessee located within 30 minutes of Loudon County.
The University of Tennessee is one of the nation's top 100
research universities and offers more than 300-degree programs
in both undergraduate and graduate studies.

Meiji Gakuin Japanese High School
- Located 10 minutes south from the City of Loudon in
Sweetwater, Tennessee
- First fully accredited Japanese secondary school in
America
- An overseas branch of Meiji Gakuin in Japan, the school
is accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Science,
and Culture
- Meiji Gakuin is a coeducational boarding school that
provides Japanese children the opportunity for a high
school education equal to that being provided in Japan.
Maryville
College International Student Services
- International Student Services is located in the International
House on the Maryville College campus
- The Center for English Language Learning (CELL) is an
intensive year around program for those wishing to improve
their English language skills
- The Public School English as a Second Language program
is an English based program for local youngsters in our
public schools
University
of Tennessee Center for International Education
- The Programs Abroad Office is a participant in the International
Student Exchange Program and provides for one-for-one
student exchanges in 60 different schools in 30 different
countries.
- The International House provides programs between the
Knoxville community, the university campus, and international
students. Its focus is to increase awareness of cultural
diversity between East Tennesseans and foreign students.
- The Office of International Scholar Services program
is responsible for the "J" Exchange Visitor
Program and for "H" visas, works closely with
faculty and departments to serve visiting scholars coming
from abroad to lecture, teach, advise, or conduct research,
and orients and advises international students upon admission
to the university.
